Cloned Plates. Serious Crime |
||
|
Using cloned or false number plates is a criminal offence and is often linked to drug crime, theft, dangerous driving, anti social behaviour and other criminal activity.
Those responsible risk having their vehicle seized, being arrested, and facing prosecution.
Police have a range of specialist tactics to identify vehicles of interest. ANPR (Automatic Number Plate Recognition) technology checks registration plates against national databases in real time, helping officers detect vehicles linked to crime, track movements, stop vehicles and gather evidence. ANPR is used locally and nationally to detect, deter and disrupt criminal activity.
Across Wardleworth, Milkstone & Deeplish, we continue to act on information provided by the community. If you see a vehicle displaying suspected false plates, abandoned vehicles, or suspicious activity, please report it.
Criminals may change their plates. They cannot hide their actions.
